Last month I talked about being busy getting ready to be busy.
Well, now it’s officially busy. Business always picks up when the weather cools off, and we’re happily selling mums, pumpkins, shrubs, trees and pansies.
We’ve also got several special events going on. We had a booth at the River Bend Nature Center EcoFair on the 9th; we’ll be at Senior Focus on the 19th; and at the Outdoor Expo sponsored by First Baptist Church on the 23rd. Lots of work, but a great way to meet new people and show our products.
Coming up in November, we’ll have a seminar in the store on Nov. 13 about Organic Gardening. Then on the 20th, we’ll talk about winter bird feeding.
And mark your calendars for CASA DAY AT SMITH’S on Nov. 27. Santa will be here for family photos among Smith’s beautiful poinsettias. The whole day will benefit Child Advocates and the abused and neglected children of Wichita, Archer, Clay and Montague counties. Be sure to come see us that day, and bring in the whole family for Christmas photos!
